The Charming Casa de La Luz in Jofre

San Luis de la Paz, Gto. Sunday, March 4, 2012.  In the community of Jofre, north of our city, there is a charming residence called Casa de La Luz.  There, you can enjoy moments of relaxation surrounded by nature, like admiring the sunset from the pool, playing tennis next to native animals, or having a barbecue admiring the mountains.  Even though is private property, it is rented to the public.  It has accommodation for more than 30 people.  You can make reservations with Gustavo Castillo, at La Mision Restaurant in San Luis de la Paz, or his cell phone (468) 105-5913.

La Casa de La Luz is located just a few steps from the San Jose de Jofre Hacienda, which we talked about a few days ago.  Its construction began on January 31, 1979 and was completed on February 1, 1982, under the project of Don Manuel Duenas de la Madrid and the direction of Don Juan Gonzalez Huerta.

The lovely home is hidden behind a couple of rows of trees.  A seductive sculpture of a woman, for which served as a model an inhabitant of the village, adorns the entrance.  After opening the main door, we find an attractive rustic structure and decoration.  At the center, interior gardens with a water fountain embellish the building.

The construction has two levels.  On the ground floor, there is a living room and a dining room with panoramic view to the outside.  From there, one contemplates with delight the pool and the natural landscape.  In addition, there are billiard and ping pong tables to spend hours of fun.  Also, there are two bedrooms and a kitchen. In the upper level, there are two rooms, with queen size beds and bunk beds.

On the outside, the view is spectacular.  The pool is built at the edge of the highland, where the forest and mountains take your breath away.  There is also a kiosk where you can take a break, or indulge with a barbecue prepared on a nearby grill.   Two more bedrooms are in this area.  Finally, there is a tennis court next to an animal enclosure, which includes deer and ducks.

The charm of this beautiful refuge of peace among nature is described perfectly, by a sign that appears on the arch looking towards the mountains: Casa de La Luz. On a clear day... you can see forever.
