Xichu, Our Brother Town from the Sierra Gorda

Xichu, Gto. Tuesday, January 10, 2012. Located in the heart of the Sierra Gorda, Xichu is one of the municipalities which along with San Luis de la Paz and others comprise the northeast of the state of Guanajuato.  It was founded by Spaniards in 1580 as a mineral town.  It distinguishes itself today by its beautiful forests and landscapes (now part of the Biosphere Reserve of the Sierra Gorda of Guanajuato), sparkling huapango music, and its friendly inhabitants.  It has 56 communities.  Its main economic activities are agriculture and livestock.  Greetings Xichu natives who visit our website!
