Pozos Celebrates the Lord of the Works
Mineral de Pozos, Gto. Sunday, May 20 2012. Mineral de Pozos celebrated today its patron saint, the Lord of the Works. The festivities started from days before, but this date was the culminating point. Thousands of pilgrims from other cities visited Saint Peter the Apostle Parish, where He is worshipped. The Magic Town was full of stands of various articles and foodstuffs. Also, there were so many people, that it was difficult to walk from one side to another. As always, it was a big party.
For the celebration, the entire Aldama Street, from the entrance to the Garden was covered with posts. These extended to Hidalgo, Ocampo, Mina, Morelos, Cortazar, and other streets. By far, the commercial offer here is greater than that of the San Luis de la Paz fair. Also, there were mechanical rides by the unfinished temple of the Lord of the Works.
Thousands of people showed up for the festivity. A countless number of inhabitants of San Luis de la Paz walked 8 miles to be here. While we strolled in Pozos, we came across with many people we know, like relatives, friends and neighbors. To be able to enter the parish, we had to do a long wait in line. There were fireworks and dance groups. It was a large celebration indeed.
