The Rotary Club San Luis de la Paz Turns 35

San Luis de la Paz, Guanajuato. Wednesday, June 13, 2012. The Rotary Club San Luis de la Paz reached 35 years of serving local society.  To celebrate this important event, its members attended a special Mass celebrated by Father Juan Jose Teran at the temple of San Francisco. Since 1977, the Rotary Club has completed projects in our municipality, to address problems such as disease, lack of clean water, poverty and hunger.  Congratulations!

Rotary International is a worldwide voluntary organization, founded in 1905, which provides humanitarian service and promotes the development of good will and peace. In our city, the local club was established three decades and a half ago.  Of the founding partners, Javier Lopez and Francisco Cardenas are still laboring today.

This Saturday June 16th, the Rotary community in San Luis de la Paz will have a big bash.  On one hand, it will be honored with the visit of Dr. Laura Garza, Governor of Rotary District 4160, which includes the states of Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Michoacan and Queretaro.

And on the other hand, it will celebrate the formation of two new clubs: one for young people (Interact) and one exclusive for women (Rotary Club San Luis de la Paz Las Minas). Both will receive their charter from the hands of Dr. Herrera, with the presence of municipal, educational, and Rotary authorities.
