Women Want to Form a New Rotary Club

San Luis de la Paz, Gto. Thursday, March 29, 2012.  A group of women leaders in our community met this afternoon at the Quanaxhuato Restaurant, in order to find out the requirements to form a new Rotary club in San Luis de la Paz, which will be exclusive for ladies.  In addition, Rotary District 4160 officials and members of the existing local Rotary club attended.

Representatives of the Rotary District 4160 Jesus Valdes (In Charge of the Development of Rotary - Membership) and Ramon Medellin (In Charge of New Clubs-Extension) were responsible for providing the information. They explained what is Rotary, its history, principles, objectives and steps to form a new club.

Since 1989, women have served as active members in Rotary at the global level.  District 4160 (which includes the states of Jalisco, Guanajuato, Michoacan, Queretaro and Hidalgo) have 10 women's groups so far; with the one from San Luis la Paz they will be 11.  In our city, there is additionally a mixed club in present time; therefore it will be the second here.
