Military Deliver Flags to Local Schools

San Luis de la Paz, Gto. Friday, April 20, 2012.  Members of the Mexican national army delivered new flags to local schools and other institutions at the Matamoros Esplanade. The City Mayor, Javier Becerra, and Colonel Andres Valencia, Commander of the 5th Armored Regiment, served as honorary witnesses.  One of the flags was symbolically incinerated as well.

The ceremony began at 10:15 a.m. with the introduction of the presidium and other guests.  There were honors to the flag and a message from the Mayor.  Javier Becerra said that we must remain united as Ludovicenses and Mexicans, for the love and benefit of our homeland.

Before being cremated, the symbolic flag made a last tour through the Esplanade.  Then, the military handed out new flags to the color groups.  Finally, they wrapped the patriotic symbols and the Mexican national anthem was sung.  It was a colorful rite which ended at 10: 47 a.m.
