Mayor Opens the 3rd Crafts Meeting
San Luis de la Paz, Gto. Friday, March 30, 2012. The 3rd Crafts Meeting was opened this afternoon at the Matamoros Esplanade by the City Mayor Javier Becerra, in the presence of several directors of Houses of Culture of the state. 40 artists from 16 municipalities of Guanajuato will participate in the show. There are workshops and artistic events in the program too. It will end on Sunday, April 1. It is organized by the Ludovicense Cultural Center.
Gerardo Sanchez, In Charge of the House of Culture, presented the special guests. In his greeting message, Javier Becerra, Mayor of San Luis de la Paz, said that it is his government´s obligation to preserve our culture, especially today through the arts and crafts.
The group Eagles That Are Not Forgoten from Mision de Chichimecas held a pledge ceremony to the four winds. Meanwhile, the Dance of Warriors Xochipilli entertained the crowd with its autochthonous dance. In the tour of the stands, we were accompanied by the beautiful Cecilia I, Queen of the 2011 San Luis de la Paz Regional Fair.
Among the municipalities who participate are: Dolores Hidalgo, Doctor Mora, Atarjea, Salamanca, San Felipe, San Miguel de Allende, Santa Catarina, San Diego de la Union, Ocampo, Uriangato, Comonfort, Tierra Blanca, Abasolo, Xichu and of course San Luis de la Paz.
