San Luis de la Paz, Gto. Friday, March 30, 2012. SABES students of the Mision de Chichimecas installed Friday of Sorrows altars at the Main Garden, with the intention of preserving this Catholic tradition. They did it on their own initiative, as on this occasion it was not organized by the public institutions. Congratulations to these young people for their effort.
The Chichimeca pupils staged three altars in front of one of the portals. They were decorated with flowers, colored water, candles, sawdust, and seeds. Many people passing by stopped to admire them. The religious practice is held eight days before Good Friday. Its purpose is to bring comfort to the Blessed Virgin, by the coming loss of his son, Jesus Christ.
